About the Job
The Export Control Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant export control regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing export control framework within the organization, structural and organizational support of the operational export control processes. The export control officer will closely collaborate with the first line business and other second lines of defense functions to manage and monitor export control compliance risks.
Compliance is organized in a regional model (Europe, India, APAC, North America and growing into other regions) to ensure proximity to its customers and to support the business; the central team provides support to local compliance officers within all businesses.
What you do
· Design and implement the global Export Control Compliance Framework across Allianz Technology, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company policies.
· Continuously monitor changes in export control laws, updating company policies and procedures accordingly to maintain compliance.
· Conduct Export Control Assessments on Allianz Technology’s service portfolio, perform risk assessments related to export activities, and implement mitigation strategies. Lead and coordinate risk and control assessments to ensure proper risk identification and mitigation.
· Advise and collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior management and local compliance officers, to resolve export control issues and ensure company-wide compliance alignment.
· Maintain appropriate due diligence and internal record-keeping to comply with regulatory requirements. Review, assess, and submit Export Control License applications to regulatory authorities.
· Develop and deliver internal training sessions to ensure employees understand and comply with export control policies, fostering a strong compliance culture.
· Assist with internal and external audits related to Export Control Compliance, while preparing reports for senior management and the Board on export control topics.
What you bring
· Strong understanding of export control compliance regulation and export licensing procedures.
· Business fluent English is required as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex regulations. Other languages are a plus.
· Experience working in a multi-national business is preferred
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience of preparing Senior/Board level reports
· Strong team-work skills and intercultural experience with highest ethical standards and integrity
· 3 + years of professional experience in an Export Control Compliance related role in Financial Services or Technology industry or similar.
· Higher education degree or qualification in Compliance, Legal, Business, Engineering, Education, Computer Science, MBA etc. being a plus.
