JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Claims Processing and Administration
Inputting and maintaining accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems
Managing timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identifying loss trends
Investigation and Reserving of Claims
Investigating high exposure domestic and international claims that involve complex issues and/or litigation - requires qualified legal analysis
Evaluating and addressing coverage issues
Analyzing facts and ensuring timely and appropriate reserving levels
Negotiating and resolving high exposure, complex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions
Driving effective subrogation processes
Referrals and Compliance
Ensuring all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims procedures and guidelines
Referring cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate
Supporting establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and internal business partners
Undertaking audits of external service providers as appropriate
Market Management
Proactively supporting acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
Proactively liaising with MMC on market management initiatives
Attend industry functions
Relationship Management
Positively represent AGCS externally to the market
Proactively driving involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations
Effectively reporting and presenting complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Preferably a degree in Law, or other appropriate discipline
Completion of professional insurance qualification
Minimum 5 to 7 years: Specialized understanding of Lawyers, Cyber, Media and Tech E&O products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge
Minimum 5 to 7 years: Specialized understanding of regional / local Lawyers, Cyber, Media and Tech E&O insurance markets and competitor landscape
Minimum 5 to 7 years: Recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level
Minimum 3 to 5 years: Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework
Minimum 3 to 5 years: Experience in working in complex, global matrix organization
Products and Coverages: understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages
Claims Handling: knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery
Reserving, reinsurance and coinsurance: knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of other insurance and risk transfer application
Litigation: Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation). Seasoned litigation manager, effective in timely setting and reviewing strategy to obtain optimal timely resolutions
Prefer candidate with claims experience in the designated lines of business, but willing to consider candidate with the desire and ability to be cross trained to effectively handle the designated lines
Intermediate: Communication skills: Clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or writing
Advanced: Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties
Advanced: Analytical Skills: Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze, study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions
