Job Purpose/Role
The position is situated within the CAT Analytical Hub team of the Allianz SE Reinsurance CAT Risk Management department. In this role, you will work closely with the CAT Modelling and Exposure Analytics teams in Munich and Singapore. Your responsibilities will include:
- Being responsible for the natural catastrophe (Nat CAT) risk assessment of Allianz's Operating Entities' portfolios, as well as those of third-party clients.
- Contributing to Allianz Group's CAT Technical Excellence by supporting Operating Entities (OEs) in developing and maintaining advanced primary pricing and accumulation models across a wide range of perils and lines of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze Nat CAT and cyber data, including conducting CAT risk assessments (CAT modelling) and data analytics for internal and external clients
- Support OEs in developing and maintaining advanced primary pricing Nat CAT models, in collaboration with relevant Group centers
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, provide guidance to stakeholders, and facilitate knowledge transfer
- Conduct CAT model testing, validations, analytics, and workflow optimization
- Automate data preparation and data flow processes
- Build and maintain relationships with OEs and Allianz Re stakeholders (e.g., Retro reinsurance, Underwriting)
- Support outgoing reinsurance, Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) solutions and projects, as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities upon request
Key Requirements/Experience/Skills
- Master's Degree in Geosciences, Environmental Science, Mathematics, or a related field in Engineering
- Proficiency in handling and analyzing large datasets, including database technology and languages (SQL)
- Experience in CAT modelling using probabilistic models would be a plus
- Experience in developing Nat CAT primary pricing models would be a plus
- Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools, preferably Power BI
- Understanding of (re)insurance business and treaty structures would be a plus
- Programming skills and experience, preferably in Python
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural awareness
- Self-motivated and committed working style
- Fluent in Italian and English
