Job description
JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
Allianz Global Assistance is seeking professional, career-minded Case Managers to fill several full-time contract positions to support exciting growth at our Toronto office.
Under direction of the Supervisor, Case Management, and working along-side a team of committed and professional Case Managers and Registered Nurses, you will review and manage medical cases from our insured clients, including managing the healthcare costs for the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conducting daily monitoring of hospitalized patients and/or outpatient care, updating notes and keeping record of decisions in case management computer system.
• Secure Medical Consultant’s or Registered Nurse’s assessment of medical information.
• Provide approvals for defined procedures and follow-ups or liaises with medical team as required.
• Liaise with the patient and/or family regarding benefit information, itinerary, technical benefits and arrangements for the case.
• Review the client’s policy and investigate the file to determine most appropriate course of action.
• Make billing arrangements (incl. coverage letters etc.) and obtain updated bill amounts.
• Coordinate the repatriation of the client, along-side the Transportation Services team.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• A College Diploma/Degree
• A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar function.
• Ability to work shifts consisting of days, evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays (shift premiums available).
• Proficiency using modern computer applications, such as Windows, MS Office, web-based technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. In particular, the ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
• Superb customer service skills.
• Ability to work with and keep confidential sensitive materials, situations, and people.
• Ability to take ownership of a task and be accountable for assigned cases.
• Proficient data entry skills. Must be able to make concise and clear case notes.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks independently in order to complete job functions in an orderly, efficient manner.
• Good understanding of world geography and current events.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in resolving customer problems.
