A Group Life Insurance Business Analyst plays a crucial role in the development, implementation, and optimization of group life insurance products and processes. The Group Life Insurance Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the development and implementation of group life insurance products. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, gathering and documenting requirements, and ensuring that solutions align with business objectives. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  1. Business Analysis: 

  • Conduct detailed analysis of business processes related to group life insurance. 

  • Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 

  1. Requirements Gathering: 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. 

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams. 

  1. Product Development Support: 

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of group life insurance products. 

  • Ensure that products meet regulatory requirements and align with business goals. 

  1. Project Management: 

  • Support project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of solutions. 

  • Monitor project progress and report on key milestones and deliverables. 

  1. Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Facilitate communication between business units, IT teams, and other departments. 

  1. Data Analysis and Reporting: 

  • Analyze data to identify trends and insights that can inform business decisions. 

  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders. 

  1. Quality Assurance: 

  • Participate in testing and validation of new products and processes. 

  • Ensure that solutions meet quality standards and business requirements. 

 

Qualifications and skills 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience as a business analyst for minimum 10 years, preferably in the insurance industry. 

  • Strong understanding of group life insurance products and processes. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Project management experience is a plus. 

  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions. 

  • Advanced technical skills. 

  • Excellent documentation skills.
