JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

Allianz Resolution Management® professionally manages the US legacy insurance portfolios for Allianz Group. The Group’s legacy liabilities total several billion dollars covering asbestos, pollution, workers’ compensation, and construction defect exposures. It is our task to manage these complex long tailed exposures and generate the best outcome possible. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Allianz Resolution Management is looking for two Claims Adjusters to join our Asbestos Team – based anywhere, USA – Boston or Petaluma, CA area location preferred but not required.

Essential Functions:

Handle claims of lower severity and complexity. Secure key account information. Complete investigation, evaluation and settlement. Monitor excess accounts for exposure and evidence of attachment.

Verify and analyze coverage. Obtain information regarding coverage internally and from insureds, brokers and co-carriers. Prepare charts depicting coverage layers and limits.

Prepare routine coverage analysis letters.

Manage vendors and assist with confirming appropriateness of charges and carrier share.

Assist with preparation and reallocation of payments and entry into appropriate systems.

Collect, reconcile, verify and upload claim trend data into database.

Obtain all necessary licenses and follow state mandated procedures.

Engage in appropriate and timely communication with policyholders, clients and vendors.

Effectively document files using progress notes. Assist in FileNet documentation.

Interact with business partners and/or technical resources (internal and external).

Understand and adhere to procedures and workflows for multiple systems including ATLAS, Chief and Cosmos and various databases.

Utilize technology/systems resources effectively to adjust claim files efficiently while achieving high customer satisfaction.

Review and organize historical files; identify key documents.

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Entry-level knowledge of claims handling procedures, philosophy, legal concepts, terminology, and process and workflow in a customer service environment.

Analytical skills.

Interpersonal & communication skills to work effectively in a team environment by applying the Business Practices and Shared Values in achieving policy fulfillment.

Strong organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Utilize computer systems including experience with Microsoft Excel.

State insurance adjuster license(s) or ability to obtain them within 6 months.

Prior GL experience preferred but not required.

Superior customer service/telephone skills.
