The Operational Risk Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the identification, assessment and mitigation of operational risks associated with business activities of Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia (“ALIM”). This role will involve working with stakeholders across all departments in ALIM. The position will report directly to Head of Risk.
You'll be responsible for:
· Coordinate identification, assessment and monitoring of Operational Risks across the company and recommend/follow-up on mitigation actions.
· Conduct reviews to conclude on the effectiveness of the internal control system related to operational risk management.
· Maintain company-wide operational risk data including risk register, key risk indicators, loss events and perform the required reporting into the systems of Allianz SE Group and/or Bank Negara.
· Promote awareness and understanding of operational risks amongst employees and foster a culture that is conducive effective risk management.
· Support risk oversight and decision-making responsibilities by aggregating and reporting all significant operational risk matters to the Risk Committees, Board, regulator, regional and group office on a timely basis.
· To ensure compliance with Operational Risk-related policies, limits, local regulation and Allianz SE Group standard.
· Maintain all documentations in relation to the identification and treatment of risk to a standard acceptable to both internal and external auditors/regulators.
· To implement any new initiatives initiated by local Management, BNM, regional and group office.
Important to your success:
· Experience in process reviews and possess understanding of the application of risk management practices.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in Risk Management or Internal Audit, preferably in the financial services industry.
· Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and adhere to deadlines.
