Description: Participate in a team of engineers responsible for the development, integration, build and test of software for control module for various control algorithm analysis, design, implementation, bench/dyno/vehicle testing. Perform failure mode analysis, diagnostic analysis, design, implementation and testing. Perform software requirements analysis, design, coding, test plan creation, and testing for Control Features. Perform reviews for Requirements, Design Documents, Simulink Models, C/C++/Assembly code, and Test Plans. Create RTW/Target Link Models. 3-5 years experience

This key position modifies or creates production software for the Global Powertrain Electronic
Control (GPEC). They work in multi-disciplinary "Centers of Excellence (CoEs)" who are responsible
for delivering embedded software for the GPEC ECU family. Provide status on changes to the
components he/she is responsible for related to "Vehicle Functions (VFs)"and issue resolution status
to Vehicle Controls technical lead, a COE Leader, or Project Management Coordinators (PMCs).
They will participate in issue investigations, algorithm development and support FMEA development
for new control strategies with system engineers. They will use software engineering process to
develop the vehicle control software, Model-In-the-Loop (MIL), Lauterbach and Hardware-in-the-
Loop (HIL) instrumentation or a vehicle or other data sources to perform unit test of the new
software. The successful candidate will participate in CPU bandwidth testing and ECU memory
usage reporting; work with various Configuration Management tools, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)
test equipment, and an internal Calibration database tool; and develop, update and maintain process
and procedure documents.
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
Applied Physics/Mathematics
•3 years of automotive engineering experience of embedded Controls/Software experience, however
an advanced degree and/or academic research in a related field may count towards experience
requirement
•Demonstrated adherence to a defined software development process
•Familiarity with microprocessor based controls and development tools (emulators, debuggers, etc.)
•Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow experience
•Powertrain Controls / Software experience
•Experience with Motorola/Freescale 32bit processors
•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
•Strong experience working in multidisciplinary teams
•Strong project coordination skills
•Flexibility must be able to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity
•Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of management
Preferred Requirements
•dSpace TargetLink / Embedded Coder experience
•Experience with Motorola/Freescale 32bit processors
•Experience adapting application software into vendor/OEM Software
•Experience with AutoSAR and/or dSpace's System Desk
•Experience with Hard Real time embedded applications
•Experience with Controller Area Networks (CAN)
•Automotive experience either at work or university, such as Formula SAE, SAE EcoCar, or other
