DVA/Dimensional Variation Analysis Engineer

As part of AKKA UK’s rapidly growing Automotive division you will be integral to the expansion of our existing expert and dynamic teams. AKKA Automotive has a wide breadth of work locations across the UK, with a variety of on-site, customer-based projects as well as deliverable-based work carried out in our Bristol and Crewe offices, giving you the opportunity to be flexible and get involved with a wide variety of projects, customers, approaches and company-wide development opportunities.
AKKA are currently expanding our capability within the Automotive industry and are currently looking for a number of DVA Engineers. You will join our team in the South West who have a consistant successful delivery rate with our customer. The successful DVA Engineer will be responsible for supporting optical quality reviews with the customer, ensuring all gap/flush targets are assessed and supported with relevant dimensional studies. On this highly innovative project, regular dealines and requirements will vary so ensuring any significant, critical or high impact characteristics are transferred to the measurement plans and support continuous development of dimensional documentation and procedures.
Position Overview:
· Ensure FT&A/GD&T in released designs is in accordance with BS8888
· Support vehicle dimensional concept in context to downstream manufacturing processes.
· Provide support in generating strategy concepts, which sets overall engineering concept; which is required for Assembly jigs, Fixtures, and measurement plans.
· Design Reviews
· Manufacturing process reviews
· DVA – Tolerance Analysis Modelling
Key Experience:
· A degree in mechanical / automotive engineering or similar (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience in a similar role.
· CATIA V5
· GD&T
· 8D or Practical Problem Solving (PPS)
· Methodical approach to work with strong analytical skills
