Description of the job

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria.

VIE Main Requirements:

·  European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), graduates up to 28 years old
·  Have fulfilled military obligations for their country.
·  Fluent in English.

A 18 month's VIE as communication officer starting from 1st May 2018 has arisen within Airbus Latin America & Caribbean Division in Miami, USA.

In this position, you will report directly to the Airbus Communications Manager for Latin America.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

General Communications

·  Manage internal communications/content development for “The Hub” (Intranet), “AirbuzzTV” (internal TV network), “Airbuzz#Miami” (employee newsletter), ensuring representation in global editorial committee
·  Manage “Noticias” (Airbus Latin America online customer newsletter in English, Spanish, Portuguese)
·  Monitor aviation news from Latin America to feature positive media coverage or flag negative coverage
·  Review and compile media monitoring reports
·  Design and publish invitation, event programs, brochures and other graphic materials
·  Prepare presentations and proposals as needed
·  Review sponsorship proposals, make recommendation on way forward
·  Maintain Airbus Latin America Press Kit in English, Spanish and Portuguese
·  Coordinate facility visits and simulator sessions for Airbus Training Center in Miami
·  Maintain/distribute department activity/event calendars
·  Maintain/distribute contact lists for regional PR network, vendors and PR-counterparts of Airbus operators

Digital Communications

·  Collaborate on Airbus digitalization efforts, constantly identifying ways to communicate more efficiently, capitalizing on opportunities to populate new digital channels with content about Miami and Latin America
·  Serve as community manager for multiple online communities on “The Hub”

Customer Gifts/Inventory

·  Maintain customer gift inventory and website (order, restock, package, etc.)
·  Propose unique gift ideas for Airbus customers

Accounting

·  Manage accounting process for department, including the invoice collection/submission, opening and maintaining purchase orders, managing back office accounting in SAP, etc.
·  Maintain spreadsheet of expenses for Latin America Communications Department

Event Coordination & Execution

·  Organize and/or provide logistical support at Miami events
·  Manage mass mailings, event invitations, RSVPs, etc.

This role will involve travels several times a month for business between Airbus Latin America Offices in Blue Lagoon and the Miami Training Center and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. You will also be required to have your own car and a clean driving licence.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a 5 year's degree in Communication
·  At least 12 months of professional communications experience (internal/workplace communications a plus)
·  Journalism and Communications majors encouraged to apply
·  Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
·  Comfortable using photography and desktop publishing tools
·  Aviation knowledge/interest a plus.
·  Soft skills:

o Able to multitask and work under pressure
o Excellent writing and editing skills in English and Spanish
o Interested in working with diverse cultures from Latin America and the Caribbean

·  Language Skills:

o Fluent in English and Spanish
o Portuguese and/or French would a plus
