Description of the job
For Airbus in Hamburg within Engineering, department Industrial Design & Vision, we are looking for two Industrial Designer for Cabin Interior (m/f).
Desired profile
Tasks & accountabilities
We are a team of 10 designer based in the Industrial Design Studio within ZAL (Centre of Applied Aeronatical Research) in Hamburg. Our scope is to create cabin interior which is visually appealing and to bring a new sense of space for passengers, while at the same time maximizing functional and economic performance.
Hereby our main topics are Industrial Design Concepts, Customization Design, Vision, Design Language, Serial Design and Lighting Design.
As the successful candidate your principal activities will include:
· Definition and creation of both customer specific cabin and new programmes interior components incl. 3D modelling, scetching etc.
· Development of Cabin Interior Design Concepts for baseline of company products and programmes
· Providing and securing presentations (in the form of movies, mock-ups etc.) of new concepts to management, marketing and customer
· Creation and securing of Industrial-Design requirements as prerequisite for development, engineering, production, purchase and marketing with regards to the interior component design by applying Airbus design language to the product
· Securing and monitoring of the surface design with regards to aesthetic parameters considering technical and market-orientated requirements
Required skills
As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and characteristics:
· University degree in Industrial Design or equivalent
· Advanced expertise with visualization techniques and 3D modelling is required
· Advanced skills of the IT-Tools Alias and/or IcemSurf and/or Rhino is a prerequisite
· Advanced skills of Adobe Creative Suite Software (like Illustrator, Photoshop or Indesign) is required
· Advanced knowledge of Standard Office tools (Powerpoint, Outlook, Word etc.) is a requirement
· Basic knowledge about physical model making is a prerequisite
· Basic knowledge of Catia is appreciated
· Basic knowledge of industrial production processes with regards to cabin is favorable
· Ideally first working experience within aircraft cabin environment
· Knowledge of branding and cooperate identity is appreciated
· First scetching experience with wacom board is favorable
· Negotiation level of English is required, advanced level of German is appreciated
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· Creative way of working as well as analytical and conceptional way of thinking
· Spatial sense of thinking
· Ability to work in a team
· Attitude to motivate others is appreciated
· Transnational working experience is beneficial
· Willingness to take worldwide business trips (approx. every 2 months)
