Description of the job

Are you a Full-stack developer with a passion for Data Analytics? Interested in learning about and developing Geospatial applications? Do you enjoy working on projects that are different every day? Are you passionate about creating clean crisp code that works – rather than clunky code that “will do”?

We are not looking for code-monkeys.

You will be encouraged to bring ideas to the table and to explore different approaches. The projects will be varied and diverse – not the same thing over and over again, groundhog day on repeat.

This role would suit someone who comes from a Java background, or someone who wants to Cross train from C#.NET into day-to-day usage of Java.

As a Full-stack developer you will be joining a team of 11 techies. Your team are very experienced, passionate about sharing information and creating technically-challenging pieces of software.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Develop the best Geospatial applications you can - you're joining a world leader for a reason.
·  Contribute to and support the design of software components.
·  Compose and manage supporting software materials required for development (such as data, graphics, user interface etc.)
·  Contribute to estimates for development work with ideas and based on technical experience.
·  Knowledge share with your team, give each other ideas and feedback.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

·  Problem Solving – we're looking for someone who will question things, dig down into the root-cause of issues and to use a logical and systematic approach. We're working with really complex pieces of software and kit.
·  Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-functional team
·  Team Oriented – the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team. Although we're a big corporate company, we are made up of small teams that make a big difference.
·  Curiosity – the desire to be creative and innovative

Now the techie stuff - we're looking for someone who has experience of:

·  Java
·  Front-End Web development – HTML / CSS / Javascript
·  Spring / Hibernate / other relevant frameworks
·  Rest Web Services
·  PostgreSQL
·  Agile / Scrum

You will be working in an up-to-date environment with Java 7+, HTML5, CSS3, Angular 2+, Java Persistence API (JPA), JBoss / Wildfly GIS, OpenLayers 4, GeoServer and Maven - any experience is of interest but is NOT essential as training will be provided.

Make every future a success.
