Job Description
Have you ever faced a flight delay due to technical reasons and thought: “why didn’t the engineers anticipate this failure? It would be so much better if they had!”
Guess what? With today’s aircraft connectivity it is now possible to do so! Some team members of the Airbus Engineering Landing Gear Center of Competences are actually doing that on a daily basis, on all Airbus programmes. They are developing predictive maintenance algorithms to anticipate technical failures so that, you, the ultimate customer, are able to fly to your final destination on time!
Other team members are designing solutions to minimize as much as possible those unexpected moments when an aircraft is stuck on ground due to non-anticipated failures. Working closely with the customer support department the work is around identifying the top/recurring issues and exploring how the design margins and the in-service experience could be looked at to allow more aircraft operability.
If you’d rather work on good old technology you can do that too within the Airbus Engineering Landing Gear Product Operations, Transverse Engineering department! We are indeed performing engineering tasks for the oldest Airbus fleet: the A300, A310, A300-600 & Beluga aircraft… and that “for decades to come”. Welcome back to a pure hydro-mechanical world!
OK, so all of this is business related, but what about you and your personal development?
The Airbus Engineering Landing Gear Product Operations department offers several different growth opportunities. You want to develop deep technical knowledge, even expertise, in the Landing Gears perimeter? That’s obviously possible. You want to develop subcontracting supervision? That’s also possible. You want to develop project management skills? That’s possible too! Moreover, there are bridges with the other teams facing our customers in both Airbus Engineering and Customer Support departments so you can envisage your development on the long term, building on the skills and competences you have, will and would like to acquire.
This first overview of the Airbus Engineering Landing Gear Product Operations department is not enough to convince you to join us? Then please take an extra minute to read what team members are saying about why they joined and, more important, why they are staying :
“Opportunities to develop - mutual support - interesting variation in work (systems/structures)”
“Great team spirit - good variety of work - proximity to wider Airbus functions - open discussions with leadership team promoted - exposure to different stakeholders”
“Wide technical scope - deliver support activities - involvement in Safety & Airworthiness”
“Multicultural team - customer oriented activities - friendly atmosphere - solidarity between team mates - growth opportunity”
“Solving customer issues - good team spirit - challenging & stimulating work - personal improvement”
“Customer-oriented team and deliverables - great range/variability of topics to work on - possibility to grow skills and competences - leading the way on some topics of the future - friendly work atmosphere/no people conflicts”
So you want to know more about this open position? It will be a pleasure to meet and discuss! See you soon :)
