Description of the job
A vacancy for a Printed Circuit Board Supply Quality Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Portsmouth.
The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.
Desired profile
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
o Supporting Printed Circuit Board (PCB) supplier selection and supplier approval status in accordance with criticality of manufactured items
o Supporting supplier evaluation and audits, identify potential risk of product/manufacturer prior to launch of purchase orders
o Ensuring that all PCB suppliers and their products are approved and qualified to the applicable requirements
o Supporting to PCB MRR (Manufacturing Readiness Review) process, including quality and technical review and risk analysis
o Co-ordinating inspections at allocated PCB manufacturers (FCSI, lot release at supplier)
o Responsibility for PCB lot release to stock vs applicable requirement
o Ensuring resolution of any part problems encountered at PCB manufacturers, during inspections or at users level, in accordance with projects rules and requirements
o Direct follow up of supplier quality and process improvement with PCB manufacturers
o Participate in strong technical & quality exchanges and cooperation between ADS sites and subsidiaries, supporting ‘One voice in front of suppliers'.
o Support the PCB Manufacturer Survey as a preventive action with the objective to reduce non-conformances and reoccurrence of issues from PCB manufacturers
This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
· Must have solid proven knowledge & experience with PCB centred around manufacturing and manufacturing acceptance.
· Experience of inspection in PCB and PCB micro sections and / or working with inspection teams.
· Experience and understanding of quality and quality related issues with PCB manufacture
· Experience within a space and or defence .
