Master Thesis: Hardware In the Loop Simulation for Collaborative Navigation (d/f/m)

Airbus develops the navigation systems of future aircrafts. A Hardware In the Loop Simulation shall verify that the navigation software runs correctly on the navigation computer and that the interface to the sensors and other systems are correctly implemented. This is the final step before going into flight test.

You shall support the setup of the Hardware In the Loop Simulation.

Your tasks and responsibilities

· 
Develop an overall concept and architecture for the Hardware In the Loop Simulation

· 
Integration of sensor models (e.g., IMU, GPS) in the C++ simulation environment

· 
Setup of protocols/interfaces from the Simulation Computer(s) to the Navigation Computer to stimulate the Embedded Computer with simulated sensor data

· 
Analyze the Hardware In the Loop Simulation

· 
Perform and analyze the Hardware In the Loop Simulations

 Desired skills and qualifications

· 
Enrolled full-time student in the area of informatics, computer science or an equivalent field of study

· 
Sound programming skills with C/C++ and MATLAB

· 
First practical experience with serial interface and TCP/IP as well as UPD networks

· 
Self-dependent working style

· 
Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English, German language skills are an advantage
