Lead Kubernetes Administrator and Service Delivery Manager
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Lead Kubernetes Administrator and Service Delivery Manager to join our Information Management Department based in Toulouse , France.
As a Lead Kubernetes Administrator and Service Delivery Manager you will join the Airbus Hosting Services Department and more specifically the Container Technology team.
The team has a fundamental role:

To secure Airbus multi cloud strategy,

To run and maintaint the microservices architectures,
·
To prevent the vendor locking and portability,
·
To create the applications able to react to events and scale up/ down according to demand,
·
To self heal and to deliver state of the art for company digitalization across Airbus.

Tasks and responsibilities:
We operate a mission-critical, Kubernetes-based Platform (currently running on Red Hat OpenShift) deployed on AWS. We are looking for a Lead Engineer to be the guardian of Service Delivery and Operational Excellence.
In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of an enterprise-grade platform (OCP) deployed across Public Cloud environments (AWS/GCP). Your mission is to ensure 24/7 stability through advanced automation (GitOps), rigorous Service Management, and proactive cloud-native monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
·
Strategic Roadmap & Cloud Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the platform. This includes EOL planning, major version upgrades, and aligning the AWS infrastructure underlay with OCP requirements.
·
Infrastructure GitOps & IaC: Serve as the lead architect for automation. Use ArgoCD as the sole orchestrator for cluster administration and Terraform/CloudFormation for provisioning AWS resources (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3).
·
Namespace as a Service (PaaS): Automate the provisioning and lifecycle of environments with strict enforcement of quotas, RBAC, and cloud-native network policies.
·
Fleet & Security Management: Drive global governance using ACM (Advanced Cluster Management). Ensure platform hardening and vulnerability management with ACS (Advanced Cluster Security) across all cloud zones.
·
AWS Infrastructure Stewardship: Optimize the integration between OpenShift and AWS services. Oversee IAM roles, Security Groups, and persistent storage (EBS/EFS) to ensure high availability and security.
·
Service Management & RCA Excellence: Act as the guarantor of ServiceNow (SNOW) workflows. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex outages—whether originating in the software stack or the cloud infrastructure—and implement permanent fixes via the GitOps pipeline.
·
Observability & Capacity Planning: Optimize Zabbix and cloud-native monitoring (CloudWatch/Prometheus) to ensure system health and proactive capacity planning for AWS spend and performance.
·
Global Collaboration: Act as a focal point for continuous improvement, working closely with Platform Architects in Europe and administrator teams across different countries to follow key evolutions.

Technical Excellence:
·
Cloud Expertise: 3+ years of deep technical experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Route53). Experience with GCP is a plus.
·
Container Platforms: Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) and the Kubernetes ecosystem.
·
Linux Foundations: 5+ years of experience with Linux system administration (RHEL/CoreOS preferred).
·
Automation Suite: Proven mastery of ArgoCD, Ansible, and Terraform.
·
Development: Strong scripting ability in Python, Go, or Bash to automate operational tasks.
·
Leadership & Methodology:
·
Service Management: Strong experience with ITIL processes, specifically Incident and Change Management within ServiceNow.
·
Agile Mindset: Proven track record working in Agile Scrum and/or Kanban projects.
·
Communication: Strong analytical problem-solving ability and the capacity to lead technical discussions with cross-border teams.
·
Languages: Advanced level of English and French (Preferred but not mandatory)
·
Flexibility Needed: Requires flexibility to cover weekends, holidays, and evening shifts as needed.
