A vacancy for an Intern (m/f/d) in Structural Development for the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) vehicle program has arisen in Donauwörth.

Our Department and Product

 Airbus Urban Mobility (AUM) GmbH has set itself the goal of creating the basis for more efficient and sustainable Advanced Air Mobility traffic. The focus is on the development of eVTOLs and the ecosystem necessary to help shape an entire industry from the ground up. We develop innovative technical solutions together with a large number of partners. In line with Airbus' goal of pioneering sustainable aviation, we can make a positive contribution to a multimodal mobility system.

This might still sound futuristic but Vahana and CityAirbus have proven the technical readiness. Now, it is about maturing the vehicle design, certifying according to the brand-new standards and preparing the operational environment so that we can “Go Vertical”.

If so, then join our Airbus Urban Mobility unit by performing an Internship in the Structural Mechanics & Design Team. 

Your Role

During your Internship your main focus will be to participate in the development of new materials and assessing applicability for eVTOLs:

· 
Screening and mapping of newest materials

· 
Exchange with other Airbus entities, mainly with research departments

· 
Support sample manufacturing and participates in sample test campaigns

· 
Evaluate the results, performs structural analysis and determines applicability on the aircraft

· 
Perform assessments on industrialization. Defines further steps for industrialization

· 
Create a decision matrix and compare the solutions. Creates documentation. 

· 
Interact with other metiers in a multidisciplinary team

· 
Extract key development criteria for new materials

Your Qualifications and Skills

· 
Student in Aeronautical Engineering or Composite Material or equivalent 

· 
Practical experience in composite structure (e.g. Aviation, Automobile, Flight models building)

· 
Knowledge in analysis software, e.g. Hyperworks, Nastran

· 
Ability to understand and convert complex information flowing from multiple sources into usable and executable action plans

· 
Natural tendency to tie trustful links with team members and put priority in the greater good of the UAM team

· 
Ability to create a motivating and engaging work environment

· 
Target orientation and pragmatism

· 
Very good English skills, German is an advantage
