What does this internship consists in?
Together with Camilo José Cela University, Airbus has developed an exclusive program (#DISCOVER) designed for those interested in the best training in new areas of knowledge essential to be able to develop as professionals of the Future.
You will have the opportunity to study a Master, organized in three training blocks, that will allow you to DISCOVER the skills most in demand today. It will be combined with an 11 month internship at Airbus in an area related to your degree, where you can learn and complete your academic background.
The start of the internship will be in early March 2025, and will last 11 months (August disabled for all purposes). It is a full-time experience (40h/week), in which you will receive an attractive study grant.
Internship Job Description:
As a successful candidate, you will conduct your internship in Aerodynamics department and have the opportunity of taking part in the preliminary aerodynamic design and characterization of a future military transport aircraft, carrying out the following tasks:
- Aerodynamic shape design and optimization
- Trade-off of different concepts
- Generation of Aerodynamic Databases (ADB) for Performance, Loads and Stability&Control Analysis
- Generation of CFD data in support of design and ADB elaboration
- Definition of wind tunnel requirements
This internship will allow you to get knowledge and experience in:
- Understanding of advanced military aircraft aerodynamics
- Detailed aerodynamic design techniques for lifting surfaces
- Aerodynamic characterization based on CFD and experimental data
- Interfaces between Aerodynamics and other Air Vehicle disciplines
- Processes and methods used in the Industry
During the internship, you will use the standard tools used by Industry for tackling aerodynamic analysis:
- Meshing tools: CENTAUR
- CFD tools: TAU
- CFD visualisation and analysis tools: ANSYS Ensight, Tecplot
- CAD tools: CATIA
- ADB generation: Python

As a successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering
- English: negotiation level
- Spanish: Fluent.
- General knowledge in Aerodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Flight and Aircraft Design
- Previous experience on aricraft design (e.g., bachelor thesis) is valuable
- Knowledge of Meshing and CFD tools, CAD design and Python Scripting
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team spirit and great collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in complex and international environments.
- Passion for aviation and aerodynamics
