Description of the job
A vacancy for a Digital Processor System Engineer has arisen within the Communication Processors Group based in Stevenage.
The Communication Processors group is responsible for the development of Digital Processors for use in telecommunication Satellites. Examples of processor functionality include high capacity channelisers, on-board regeneration for command links and inter-satellite optical data links or implementing cryptographic algorithms to protect the spacecraft.

Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
· Responsible for ensuring system-wide coordination within an integrated project environment involving close working relationships with payload, system, hardware and test engineers.
· Requirements definition.
· Algorithm design and simulation.
· System architectural design.
· Digital hardware design and simulation.
· Laboratory demonstrator development.

Required skills
We are looking for candidates with skills and experience:
· Educated to degree level in Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
· System Engineering and Requirements Management.
· Digital Communications.
· Digital Signal Processing.
· MATLAB, C or C++ Programming.
· RTL design for ASIC or FPGA in VHDL.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Good communication skills and able to thrive in a team environment.
· Ability to present technical data in a clear and concise manner.
