Description of the job

A vacancy for an A400M DASS System Engineer (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join “A400M EW”.

Tasks & accountabilities

- Your role is to carry out System Development tasks and activities to update the A400M DASS (Defensive Aids Subsystem) design data (specs) for extensions to include new Subsystems or functional enhancements (SRD / PTS requirements creation or update / System Design Description and System Interface Definition documents update).
- You will be involved in the Review of A/C Manuals (such as FCOM, AMM) and you will have to Support the Flight Clearance Process documentation of the DASS System for development flight testing.
- As part of performing technical supplier management you will be specifying equipments to be developed according to system level and aircraft level design rules and requirements. You will monitor the supplier development activities to ensure compliance with Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical and EMI/EMC Qualification.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

- Academic degree in Engineering or Equivalent
- Extensive experience in the field of systems/ equipment engineering
- Multidisciplinary technical experience (all parts of the development lifecycle)
- Deep and wide knowledge in high frequency engineering and communication technologies, Interface design and management, data flow architecture
- Experience with communication standards: MIL-STD-1553B, AFDX, RS232, 422, 485, CAN-Bus, A429, Ethernet, IP, UDP, TCP-IP
- Deep and wide experience with measurement tool and measurement set-ups
- Knowledge within system design and architecture
- Knowledge about and the experience of application of system engineering methods (e.g. INCOSE)
- Knowledge about avionic computer design (HW and SW) would be beneficial
- Knowledge about Airbus System Development Process (ABD0200) would be beneficial
- Experience in Electronic Warfare / Other avionics system development would be beneficial
- Experience with international customers, industry and authorities would be beneficial
- Experienced to work in a multinational team
- High communication skills to interact with primary stakeholders
- Language skills: English negotiation level (german / spanish would be beneficial)
