JOB TITLE: Web Content Editor
LOCATION: Ealing, London
PAY RATE: £19.57 per hour PAYE / £25.33 per hour Umbrella
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 3 months minimum
IR35 STATUS: Inside

This role will initially focus on a project (now in its latter stages) to launch a new corporate intranet which is due to go live in January 2020. Once the new intranet is live the role will then be responsible for managing content on the new intranet as well taking on content management responsibility for the main external website.

The candidate will require good web content writing and production skills as well as the relevant expertise web content management systems and approaches.

We operates an approach where responsibility for creating some content is distributed to a team of content authors based in service areas and so the ability to train content authors is also essential.

The websites use a variety of platforms and Content Management Systems including SharePoint (for the new corporate intranet) Jadu and WordPress. Experience of using these specific tools is beneficial but not essential as training will be available. A good level of experience using different CMS will however be required.

The role will work closely with the corporate communications team, supporting those responsible for both external and employee communications into creation of high-quality, engaging and informative content of all types.

The candidate will need to be resilient and able to work to tight deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED :

·  Exceptional written and verbal communications skills and demonstrable ability to write and edit web content. (KEY)

·  Ability to prioritise work and manage a number of simultaneous time-limited projects in a pressurised environment.

·  Able to use professional expertise to aid the development of colleagues' skills and understanding of effective web content management approaches (KEY)

·  Significant experience of online publishing including expert knowledge of a variety of software applications relevant to web management and electronic publishing. (KEY)

·  Able to understand complex numerical and other performance data and make recommendations on the appropriate presentation through online communication channels.

·  Able to be creative and innovative in identifying and instigating opportunities to deliver effective communications that enhance the council's reputation, meet strategic priorities and objectives

·  Excellent interpersonal, presentation, persuasion and negotiating skills

·  Able to work effectively on a daily basis with wide range of staff from across the council with differing levels of web knowledge.

·  Ability to direct and supervise colleagues and suppliers and provide effective briefs and feedback to ensure online content is of the highest quality.

·  Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of equality issues and the ability to integrate equalities policies into communications materials.

·  Ability to show creativity and flair to generate new ideas to ensure that council messages are effectively communicated online.

·  Ability to work under pressure and to very tight deadlines.

·  Willingness to work within a team.

·  Willingness to occasionally work outside normal office hours when required.
