My client who are Europe's leading independent technology centres for the design, engineering, test and development of automotive and propulsion systems are currently looking for a Vehicle (Rototest Hub Dyno) Technician to join their experienced Vehicle Group team based in Millbrook,Bedfordshire.

The roles is offered on a permanent basis and the successful applicant will be offered a competitive salary dependent on experience along with an attractive benefits package.

Reporting to the Manager of Vehicle Facilities, the hub dyno Technician will be working within the Vehicle group reporting to the Vehicle Measurement team. The role holder will be responsible for all aspects of testing from vehicle preparation and equipment installation, through to testing, formulating and validating test results. The Hub dyno Technician are also responsible for maintaining and calibrating all test equipment and working to high standard to produce consistent results. Health and safety, quality and flexibility will be key in this role.

Roles and responsibilities

*Prepare a wide variety of vehicles for hub dynamometer testing
*Perform installation work to fuel and exhaust systems including connecting sample pipes and other instrumentation/logging equipment
*Install vehicles onto hub dynamometer and connect analytical and computer software equipment used for testing
*Perform the various tests and drive the vehicles to customer's requests
*Collate and validate test results from analytical and logging equipment
*Maintain and calibrate all test equipment
*Develop improved systems of work, installation of equipment and testing methods
*Work to Millbrook high quality standards and Health & Safety procedures
*Liaise with Vehicle group Engineering and work closely with customers
*Be involved with all Vehicle Group test activities when required
*Act in accordance with the behaviours of staff at all times.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

*Engineering apprenticeship related to motor vehicles (preferred)
*Good understanding of basic motor vehicle fundamentals
*Automotive diagnostic or testing experience
*acGSCE grades or equivalent
*Mechanical/PC qualification
*Rototest hub dyno experience (desirable)
*Instrumentation experience (desirable)
*Experience with fault finding techniques (desirable)
*Electrical/electronic experience (desirable)
*Good communication skills
*Basic IT skills including MS Word and Excel
*Methodical and logical approach to all aspects of work
*Fabrication skills (desirable)
*Flexible approach to work
*Adheres to all health and safety requirements
*Customer focused
*Detail and quality focused
*Comfortable working in a small team
*Be conscientious, reliable and punctual
*Flexibility to travel as and when required
*Full UK driving licence
*SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national with residency in the UK for the last 5 years)
*Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check
