The role itself is working in a team of 5 other switchboard operators within a small office providing switchboard support to a Trust within Manchester.

The ideal candidate would have hopefully worked in this kind of environment before and be able to work in a pressurised environment.

You could be taking a large number of calls throughout the day but on the night shift there may be minimal calls.

You would also be responsible for assisting callers and internal users of the system in a helpful and courteous manner including anyone who is confused or unsure of requirements

Monitoring the fire alarm panels, smoke, burglar and gas alarms situated in the switchboard office and immediately notify the designated staff in the event of an incident or disturbance.

There is extensive training for 12 weeks, before the candidate would move over to the rota'd shifts

The rate is £7.80 + 15% shift allowance on annual salary and the hours worked at weekends are paid at an enhanced hourly rate
