Purchasing Assistant

Position : Purchasing Assistant

Location : Bishop's Stortford

Salary/Rate : £21,000 - £23,000 per annum

Type : Permanent, Full time

Job Description

Adecco Harlow are excited to be recruiting for a purchasing assistant on behalf of our expanding client based in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire. The Purchasing Assistant will be supporting the Commercial Manager in developing and sourcing new products, negotiating prices and working closely with company suppliers.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·  Negotiate prices and terms of business with suppliers both UK and abroad,

·  The ability to evaluate and summarise products features, sizes and selling points,

·  Assist the Commercial Manager in sourcing and developing new products, through online research, exhibitions and industry media,

·  Improve the purchasing efficiency of existing products,

·  Able to identify improvements to or discontinue poor selling product lines,

·  Maintain knowledge on the market and product trends,

·  Analysis of competitors,

·  Help in deciding unit selling prices and discounts,

·  Assist in internal product training,

Candidate Profile

·  Possess a strong commercial awareness,

·  Experience of working in a buying and/ or purchasing/product sourcing role,

·  Strong analytical skills,

·  Clear and confident communication skills both internal and externally,

·  Computer skills,

Remuneration Package

·  £150 per month additional bonus (subject to team target)

·  22 days' holiday per annum,

·  Free car parking,
