Our client within public sector is looking for a Project Surveyor to join their Design/property services team based in Wandsworth. The role is offered on a contract basis for 3 months initially and pays up to £27.18/hour umbrella rate/inside IR35, depending on experience.

The Project Surveyor will mainly responsible for:

·  Undertake measured/building surveys and production of drawings

·  Prepare and submit applications for consent to Local Authority planning and building control departments, fire officers, licensing justices, freeholders etc as applicable ; Condition Surveys, Schedule of Dilapidations

·  Residential homebuyer reports,

·  Party Wall Awards

·  Expert Witness Matters

·  Design of repair, refurbishment, alteration works, including structural repairs up to £500K

·  Preparation of specifications / bills of quantities / drawings for remedial and refurbishment works.

·  Scrutiny of returned tenders and production of tender reports.

·  Approving proposed specifications for design and build contracts/fulfilling role of employer's agent on site.

·  Contract administration - including interim valuations, final accounts, issue of variations

·  Negotiations with insurance companies / loss adjusters / planning departments etc.

·  Producing feasibility studies and budget estimates.

·  Acting as Principal Designer

·  Use of Schedule of Rates for refurbishment and maintenance work.

·  Design of disabled adaptations in conjunction with Occupational Therapists. Advising clients of home improvement / repair work and subsequent administration and supervision on site.

·  Preparation of tender documentation including selecting JCT contracts

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

·  Proven Building survey, Design and contract administration skills as applied to a wide range of public buildings, residential housing and schools as applied to all project work stages from feasibility through to final certificate.

·  An appropriate construction related professional qualification or equivalent experience

·  Computer literate with AutoCAD and Revit skills

·  Ability to demonstrate an understanding of maintenance and design functions and production of documentation for tendering purposes experience in preparing of documentation for tendering purposes without the need for close supervision.

·  Cost monitoring and control of budgets associated with project work.

·  Thorough knowledge and up-to-date understanding of the relevant legislation and practice relating to the role and to construction, maintenance, procurement and health & safety.
