Our client is a leading manufacturer of engineered steel products with a long and successful history of serving the construction and associated industries. We are currently recruiting a Machine Operative/Crane Operator (Nights ) for their base in Newport. There is potential for further development and promotion within the organisation.

Basic Overhead/gantry crane experience required.

Starting rate �8.42 per hour. Following a 13 week training period you will also be entitled to weekly production bonus.

Shifts: 39 hours per week, Nights - Sunday to Thursday 10pm - 6am

Ideally you will have previous experience within:
Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, Warehouse . Experience of operating production machinery and / or cranes would be an advantage but full training will be provided

MAIN ACTIVITIES:
-Unloading Goods in Material
-Loading Material on to Machinery
-Evacuating Completed Material from Machinery
-Tying Bundles
-Attaching Slings to Product.
-Scanning Bundle Tallies
-Loading Trailers with Goods Out Material
-Use of Computer System
- To Complete Pre Start Checks at the beginning of every shift and report and problems to the maintenance immediately.
- To Unload Goods in Material via communication with the shunter driver.
- To Support the shear line operator when there is a gap in the role.
- To communicate with Stock Controller of any shortage of stock material.
- To Check, Measure and Record all levels of incoming stock that arise to be unloaded.
- To load up material on to machinery so they are never out of material making use of the extra storage on machinery provided.
- Able to tie up and secure lifts safely with the use of tying wire.
- Able to read and follow special instructions communicated through written and verbal instructions.
- Able to work in conjunction with other crane drivers supporting each other in the needs of the job.
- Proactive communicate with Machine Operators on the material they would require prior to running out.

Experience REQUIREMENTS
Basic previous crane driving experience a strong advantage. (training can be provided)

PREFERRED SKILLS
Computer literate
Ale to work on multiple jobs at one time without losing focus on the targets.
Communication
Able to communicate well with supervision and employees to avoid any down time in production
Goal driven to complete the tasks in hand and taking ownership of a selection of machinery to manage.
