Hourly Rate: £20.92 PAYE - £28.02 Umbrella
Working Pattern: Full Time (36 hours per week)
Our client, an organisation in the ADULT SOCIAL CARE AND HEALTH department, is currently seeking a Management Accountant to join their team. As a Management Accountant, you will provide management information and support the budgeting and forecasting processes within Community Equipment Services (CES). You will be responsible for providing financial, operational, and commercial analysis to aid decision-making and financial control.
Key Responsibilities:
Key activities - help producing income statements for partners, which involves running reports from an operational system, looking at data to confirm it's correct, making changes, adding commentary to explain what the data means
Accounting duties - understand costs, each Management Accountant will have nominal account lines and will need to understand exactly what's in there; large volume of data, monthly download data approx 20,000 data sets. Must have advanced Excel skills and understand how to work with large data sets, VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.
· Provide statements to partners and consolidate and report financial and operational information.
· Offer training and coaching to enhance the organisation's financial and commercial decision-making capabilities.
· Liaise with service managers, finance colleagues in partner local authorities, 3rd party IT suppliers, external auditors, and suppliers.
· Monitor, report, budget, and forecast operational costs, identifying efficiencies where appropriate.
· Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts.
· Develop commercial management accounting, including performance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial and operational improvement.
· Support the development and update of management information systems and propose system improvements.
· Produce ad hoc analysis and responses to information requests.
· Collaborate with internal and external auditors to review and assess business processes and results.
· Ensure compliance with Data Protection and Confidentiality policies.
· Support the organisation's Green Commitment Policy, contributing to reducing energy consumption and waste.
Person Specification:
· High-level educational achievement, progress towards completion of a recognised accountancy professional membership qualification.
· Demonstrable understanding of management accounting and financial modelling.
· Self-starter with initiative, able to improve current practises.
· Strong data analysis and manipulation skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to advise and influence stakeholders.
· Ability to plan, prioritise, and coordinate multiple outcomes.
· Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
· Numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
· Previous experience in financial and operational performance reporting, analysing financial and operational data.
· Willingness to occasionally work outside normal office hours and during critical reporting periods.
This is a temporary position with a competitive hourly rate ranging from £20.92 PAYE to £28.02 Umbrella.
