Our client within public sector is looking for a Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join their Social Care and Education Legal team based in Ealing. The role is offered on 3 months contract basis initially offering up to £30.28/hour umbrella rate inside IR35, working 35 hours per week.

The Paralegal will be primarily focusing on advising within Adult social care and Education matters and supporting lawyers on the same. Key responsibilities include:

·  Provide support to the department's lawyers dealing with matters relating to the Council's social care, education and public health related functions

·  Manage casework on matters relating to the Council's social care, education and public health related functions.

·  Assist with legal research, the drafting of advice, preparation of legal documentation and conduct legal proceedings in relation to the Council's social care, education and public health related functions.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

·  Degree level education, or full or trainee membership of CILEx or NALP or GDL or the Legal Practice Course (LPC), or similar qualification.

·  Paralegal or lawyer's assistant with ability to conduct legal proceedings including preparation of application/claim forms, advising on evidence, handling disclosure and, where appropriate, advocacy.

·  Knowledge and understanding of law and procedure relating to social care, education and/or public health.

·  Ability to manage own caseload effectively and efficiently.

·  Ability to conduct legal research or aptitude to learn.

·  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

·  Good attention to detail.

·  Competent ICT skills including basic keyboard skills, familiarity with word-processing packages, case management systems and simple databases or ability to acquire the same.
