I am currently recruiting for a Investiator to work within Fraud. The duration of this role is 3 months with the potential to be extended.

Pay £16.61ph, Monday-Friday 36 hours per week.

Our client is a unique law enforcement organisation which both investigates and prosecutes the most serious economic crime. We focus on criminal conduct (top tier fraud, bribery, and corruption) which undermines confidence in UK plc and the City of London in particular, compromises the level playing field that investors deserve, or has a particularly strong public interest dimension. We currently employ approximately 300 permanent staff including lawyers, investigators and business support staff. We work closely with our colleagues across the sector and the criminal justice system at home and abroad.

Team Background:
Working within Operational Division, in a multi-disciplinary team (investigators, lawyers, IT experts and Counsel) investigating a case of serious and complex fraud and bribery.

Purpose of the post:
For a suspected serious and complex Bribery/Fraud investigation, to review information, in order to lead on voluntary and Section 2 interviews (Criminal Justice Act 1987), that will need to be evidenced via witness statements. This will be completed whilst complying with CPIA (Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act) disclosure.

Key Responsibilities

*Review and summarise large amounts of data, pulling out key information for interviews of witnesses and for discharge of their disclosure duties.
*Plan and lead voluntary and Section 2 interviews.
*Liaise with witnesses / victims.
*Draft and finalise witness statements for the interviewee.
*Identify new information or lines enquires that will assist the investigation team to progress the investigation.
*Is familiar with CPIA disclosure in order to fulfil the role of an investigator and to assist the Disclosure Officer.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential
* Plan and conducted complex interviews either voluntary or under caution.
* Drafted complex witness statements.
* Is aware CPIA disclosure procedure.
* Experience of working in a law enforcement environment.
* Able to use and review material held on Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable
* Experience of large scale fraud investigations.
* Able to use the software package Autonomy.
