Job Title: Import Operator
Location: Basildon
Remuneration:
- Annual Salary: Up to £29,000
- Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:30 ⏰
Contract Details: Permanent
Responsibilities:
✅ Looking after imports from China to the UK
✅ Coordinating with China offices and local UK suppliers ✈️
✅ Arranging customs clearances and liaising with the Customs Department
✅ Managing import customs entries and bill of lading documentation
✅ Coordinating with internal accounts to ensure timely payments and up-to-date client accounts
✅ Liaising with third-party ERTS and warehouse providers for logistics coordination
✅ Organising final end deliveries with local transport companies
✅ Providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional communication ✉️
✅ Collaborating with the team and supporting the department's supervisor
✅ Handling multiple tasks efficiently and paying attention to detail
✅ Utilising internal systems like Outlook, Word, Excel, and Freight systems ️
Our client, a well-established organisation, is seeking an enthusiastic Import Operator to join their dynamic department. This department has played a pivotal role in the organisation's success, and they are eager to take it to new heights with the help of an experienced import sea freight logistics professional.
At our client's modern Head Office in Basildon, you'll enjoy a renovated office environment with fantastic amenities, a break-out area, a fully equipped kitchen, self-serve coffee machines, and even leisure activities like pool and ping pong. To balance work and relaxation, you'll have a generous hour for lunch and two additional 15-minute breaks, subject to your line manager's approval.
After six months of probation, there are additional benefits including a contributory pension, a Top up health scheme, and an extra day of annual leave per year, capped at 25 days (excluding bank holidays) following completion of your first full year of employment.
