Field Service Engineer

Job description

Adecco are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer for a internationally recognised organisation in the Letchworth area.

This role is UK based and will include up to 25% time away from home visiting client sites.

Working with intricate electronic and mechanical components it calls on a highly experience technician with excellent customer facing experience. This role will allow for a large amount of autonomy and requires candidates who understand remote reporting and troubleshooting in an isolated environment.

Regional support is available and full training on the products, most of which are manufactured locally.

Skills

* Instrument calibration
* Metrology and calibration standards (ideally for air sampling and measuring
instruments)
* Electronic and mechanical diagnostics
* Electronic and mechanical parts service and repairs
* Computer confidence, for smart instrument calibration and for calibration reports and
Records

Experience

* A degree in electronics would be ideal, HNC or other education would be considered
* Experience as a Field Technician essential, so used to travel and working on
customer facilities
* Experience of a regulated industry like Pharma or nuclear and advantage
Other Requirements
* Customer care (every instrument has an owner and our business relies on service
care)
* Willing to travel in UK and Ireland (may be some EMEA travel in the future but not
immediate)
* Ability to work alone
* Self motivated and driven and keen to learn
* Clean driving license
* No criminal record
* Good medical history
* Flexible working hours necessary to accommodate travel and site work
* Remaining time working in fixed location calibration facility
