Our client, an education provider based in South Kensington are looking for a Digital Learning Designer/ Instructional Designer to start as soon as possible for 3-4 months in their Engineering EdTech team.

This role supports the wider objectives of the clients team and their aim to become a leading Centre of Excellence in delivering digitally enhanced, online and blended learning programmes. This includes supporting the development and innovation in digital learning technologies and pedagogies for online teaching and extension activities such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

The role holder will design digital learning materials to support modules delivered 'on-campus'. Working closely with Academic Staff and Teaching Fellows they will develop high quality, screen-ready content to challenging timescales, based on frameworks that emphasise social, collaborative and task-based learning. We're looking for a practitioner who can project manage, design and produce a very high standard of instructionally sound and clear content using recognised learning methodologies and language appropriate to the subject matter and the intended learning outcomes.
This role will involve working in close collaboration with other Faculties on cross-college activities and working flexibly to meet requirements, including some filming on location. The role holder will collaborate with module content owners, and other stakeholders to design and develop all digital content with the goal of translating module design into actionable learning in a timely manner. You must be an excellent team worker with a creative mind-set and passion for digital learning who can hit the ground running.

Requirements

·  Demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the use of media technology in education.

·  Experience as an instructional designer with proficiency in live (ILT, Virtual) and asynchronous (eLearning) instructional design modalities

·  Proven experience in overseeing creative design process, concept, graphic design and innovation development.

·  Experience of working with academic and teaching staff to design, develop eLearning resources and technology. This should include delivering workshops to academic/teaching staff on design/development of eLearning resources and technologies.

·  The ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously and drive these through to completion, including requirements gathering and task management.

·  Significant experience in media pre/post and production, with proven knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity

·  Experience of working within a higher education institution.

·  Specialist knowledge of sound pedagogy-based teaching and assessment methods and techniques in STEM disciplines in higher education, preferably in the general engineering area.

·  Knowledge of the evidence base relating to teaching and assessment methods and techniques generally and within specific STEM disciplines

·  Creative ability to express complex topics clearly and concisely, in an engaging manner that will resonate with each audience.

·  Good working knowledge of STEM subject matter.

·  Strong influence-management, needs analysis, leadership, and collaboration skills.

·  Strong project management skills using established techniques and methods.

·  Creative mind and storytelling skills.

·  Coding and media experience (HTML, Scripting, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver).
