Adecco are currently recruiting for a CHILD LICENSING ASSISTANT/BUSINESS SUPPORT OFFICER to work within the CHILDRENS SERVICES TEAM of a LOCAL AUTHORI TY in KINGSTON-UPON-THAMES.

TEMPORARY ROLE (MINIMUM 3 MONTHS)

PART TIME - 21 HOURS PER WEEK

*CHILDRENS SERVICES EXPERIENCEDESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL*

Job Description: Providing support & assisting the Child Licensing Lead officer across Kingston & Richmond with statutory responsibilities as follows:

·  Answering phones, dealing with customer queries, taking messages and putting calls through to appropriate staff

·  Opening & distributing incoming mail/dealing with outgoing mail/responding to emails & booking appointments for the Child Licensing Lead officer

·  Using the database to access information and update records

·  Photocopying as required, sometimes long runs & scanning

·  Maintaining both manual & electronic records, including confidential records, filing documents accurately recording information & archiving files in a standard format

·  Assisting Child Licensing Lead officer with all CL duties including performance licences, work permits & chaperone licences & taking payments

·  Assisting with Richmond & Kingston Elective Home Education spreadsheet, updating visit list, updating QES, sending reports to families & managers

Skills & Abilities required:

·  Able to understand and respect the importance of confidentiality both within and outside the workplace

·  Good communication skills with clear spoken English

·  Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with colleagues and customers face to face, over the phone and in email

·  Accurate I.T. skills, including a thorough knowledge of Word & Excel

·  Aware of health & safety and equality & diversity

·  Good organisational skills to enable you to follow procedures & meet deadlines

·  Flexible, able to work within a team, asking for & giving support as needed

·  Able to understand the importance of being punctual & the impact that sickness absence has on the effectiveness of the team, the individuals in the team and the families that you work with

An Excel test will be given at Interview
