****Ealing Public Sector are currently recruiting for 2 Caretaker positions.****

Caretaker experience is required.

Flexible Hours. with different shifts for different days.

Address: Borough-wide (in this instance the role being filled is basically that of a spare resource used for covering absences)
Working hours: 35 hrs per week. Normally that would be M-F 8am-4pm but would be on a rota working Saturday's from 8-11am and when doing so would finish at noon on the Friday
Duties: Caretaking - cleaning floors, stairs, walls, glass, doors, moving bulk out of buildings, bin rotation, H&S checks, etc
Grade of pay: 4
Sites they have to travel to: Borough wide but as most absences are planned annual leave they often spend a full week on a single Caretaking patch
Driving required: yes - How many points are acceptable: If they have a valid licence that doesn't have a drunk or dangerous driving penalty on it it's OK

NB: This is the same as all Caretaker contracts for the past 13 years. No one has a set patch as it means we can't move them to suit our business needs.

Re: driving. If they use their own car they are eligible to claim mileage at same rate as Council staff but only for additional journeys made during working hours in order to carry out their job i.e. we don't pay people to get to work or for their journey home. And they must have insurance covering use of their car for work purposes otherwise they could technically not have an insurance claim paid out on in the event of an accident.
