Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Pay Rate: £150 - £180 per day
8am/9am - 4:30pm/5pm (Needs to be there when the suppliers are open)

The Expediter will work for the materials manager

There will be a list of materials that are due to come in and materials our clients have for other projects. These need expediting in and chasing.
Making sure that all the returns to suppliers due to faults are done and replaced. Purchase orders chasing, managing rejects and returns, when we don't have enough to complete the project, getting the quotations back to the suppliers to complete the project. Things change - every time we talk to a supplier, we need to check the quantities that we need to complete the project, constantly reviewing, to ensure that parts are arriving - checks and balances. Just need to keep this process going - it's critical to the project. Supporting the production managers.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is going push for what the client wants and when they want them. Someone who will be working in a team but also works on their own.
There are spreadsheets to fill in. Excel - intermediate level - vlook ups.
Proactive - calling people. Building good relationships.
Database - purchase order system - SAP - only enquiries. Not a major issue if you haven't used it before.
Railway background is good but not essential.
You can be a buyer, a procurement specialist - as long as you've chased and pushed for products
