Our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialist building materials, is seeking a talented Technical Officer/Building System Technician to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:
· Work through construction detailing to provide technical solutions based on customer and project requirements.
· Coordinate projects with ongoing technical support, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
· Provide accurate and timely technical support across the full portfolio of products, systems, and services.
· Develop expertise in specific material/system ranges and stay up-to-date with market legislation developments.
· Design system detailing and submit packages for approval, demonstrating autonomy and project management skills.
· Support the development of project-related systems and coordinate CAD and technical detailing.
· Provide technical assistance to customers, site managers, and regional sales managers.
· Prepare U-Value calculations, system specifications, and project packs.
· Collaborate with inter-departments to achieve the best outcomes for projects and the business.
· Assist in day-to-day department activities and represent the organisation professionally.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Minimum HNC/HND in a construction or architectural-related field.
· Strong technical knowledge in building products, preferably in areas like building boards, cladding systems, external wall insulation systems, and rainscreen facades.
· Familiarity with building materials and regulatory requirements.
· Project management or engagement experience with architects, contractors, and project designers.
· Excellent IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, CAD, and other relevant software.
· Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
· Strong organisational abilities and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
· Attention to detail and a natural problem-solving mindset.
· Ability to work well under pressure.
· Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
