As a booking clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the frontline healthcare services provided by our client. You will be responsible for efficiently scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth operation within the department. This temporary position offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to the future of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
· Book, cancel, and reschedule outpatient appointments and day case admissions according to SOPs.
· Answer and make calls via call centre software, ensuring timely responses and meeting organisation standards.
· Maintain high customer service standards and manage patient journey using hospital systems.
· Monitor waiting lists and escalate issues when capacity limits are reached.
· Handle phone calls professionally, providing accurate information and rebooking appointments.
· Schedule appointments per clinical instructions, coordinating with clinical administration teams.
· Collaborate with clinicians, managers, administrative staff, GPs, patients, and families professionally.
· Adhere to organisational processes and provide cover for leave as needed.
· Participate in team meetings, service improvement initiatives, and projects.
· Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with policies and procedures.
· Support the organisation as needed and maintain a positive reputation.
