Job description

Adecco have an exciting role in today for an Assistant Production and Planning Manager to join our local client on a permanent basis. For this role they are looking for someone from the food industry.

You will report directly to the Production and Planning Manager You will be responsible for production teams and will also participate in the HACCP team and Business Improvement Projects. You will also act as a deputy for the Production and Planning Manager when they are absent from the business.

In this role you will have many duties:

* Work alongside production teams in the manufacture, packing and dispatch of product in line agreed company procedures and standards and customer specifications
* Assist in the training and supervision of team members in all aspects of product preparation including in handling, production, weighing and storage rules and methods, safe machine operation, cleaning, stock control and safety procedures
* Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and processes are met
* Receive, input and analyse customer orders and assign duties, responsibilities and work stations to employees to meet order requirements
* Assisting in the managing of stock and raw materials to ensure customer orders can be met and products are always produced and dispatched on specification
* Inspecting supplies, equipment, products and work areas to ensure conformance to standards
* Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to achieve business benefits such as increase product quality, better job safety, increased profitability, reduced costs
* Record production, operational, and staff data on specified forms
* Plan and operate efficient production and staff rota schedules and workstation and equipment arrangements
* Greet visitors/auditors and present working areas
* Supervise and direct the production employees and ensure production is running efficiently, safely and meeting production standards and quality
* Prepare and administer performance reviews and disciplinary action for all production employees in your team
* Prepare and conduct shift meetings
* Contribute towards disciplinary write-ups where necessary
* Supervise and participate in effective cleaning and tidying activities
* Assist in the investigation and handling of customer complaints
* Take responsibility for ensuring health and safety procedures and rules are observed within the business
* Hand over to next shift supervisor / manager a detailed hand-off report
