ASSISTANT FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
MANCHESTER / HYBRID / PERMANENT
£40,000-£48,000 PLUS BENEFITS

I am recruiting on behalf of a client, an innovative organisation in the payments and technology sector. They are committed to simplifying business operations for their customers and creating world-class user experiences across their products and services. Due to an internal promotion, my client is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join their experienced team in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic finance environment, closely collaborating with a smaller sub-team within a large department.

How You'll Make an Impact
* Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple businesses within the group under tight reporting deadlines.
* Support the Financial Controller with various finance-related tasks.
* Prepare supplementary returns for submission to the parent company.
* Investigate and explain variances from budget and forecasts.
* Collaborate with the FP&A team to develop detailed budgets and forecasts.
* Work with project teams to ensure seamless integration of system changes and upgrades.
* Foster a culture of ongoing people development and process improvement.
* Maintain a strong accounting control environment through a monthly balance sheet reconciliation process.
* Review month-end reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
* Manage accounts receivable for relevant businesses.
* Prepare annual financial statements, liaising with external auditors as required.
* Serve as the finance point of contact
Experience you'll bring
· Qualified Accountant - No PQE required
· Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff
· Comfortable working in a large finance team of approx. 40 staff and liaising with all levels of staff
· Excellent technical accounting knowledge
· High level of IT literacy including use of databases (MS Access, Alteryx)
· Ability to effectively delegate tasks whilst retaining responsibility
· Strong organisational skills
· Accomplished communication skills, verbal and written
· Flexible approach and willingness to 'roll up sleeves'
· Astute attention to detail, ensuring that as far as possible items presented are 'right 1st time'
