Job description

Adecco are proud to be working with our highly successful client who have seen significant growth in the last 18 months and are now looking to expand their team. They are looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team in Knowsley on a permanent basis.

The main purpose of the role is to assist the management team and Accountant with the preparation of financial statements and accounts whilst supporting the key functions of the finance department.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Preparation and delivery of financial reports, monthly and as required
* Completing month end duties and providing accurate and timely information
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Profit and loss analysis
* Ensuring effective management of prepayments, accruals and accounting adjustments
* Banking reconciliation
* Manage sales ledger, purchase ledger and process payment runs
* Assisting and participating with cash flow
* Supporting the pricing team to ensure all company systems are correct
* Reconciling income and investigating variances, interpreting data to give feedback on unfavourable variances
* Supporting with aged debt recovery
* Run and process rebate payments
* Monitoring purchasing, providing reports when required
* Processing of purchase and sub-contractor invoices
* Assist Accountant in the production and reporting of operational costs
* Distribute petty cash, support with audits, PAYE queries and VAT returns

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:

* CIMA Qualified (part or fully)
* Previous experience in a similar role
* IT literate; proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
* Experience using Sage is preferred but not essential
* Knowledge of Intrastat / import is advantageous
* Experience in processing payments in other currencies would be beneficial

In addition to the above, you must be a real team player with an honest approach to all work. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are required, along with the ability use initiative, prioritise workloads and work to deadlines.
