With a high demand in activity in this sector we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical and Electrical Surveyor to join our expanding team.

Role

An opportunity for a highly motivated self-starter, to provide commercial support to the mechanical and electrical division, with national contracts working in the mechanical and electrical installation industry, our clients are mainly industrial end users with installations around production/process facilities, EV charging infrastructure, railway infrastructure and our ICP business.

You will have commercial responsibility for a number of projects of varying sizes with an anticipated total turnover of £50 million per year.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Work closely with the commercial director and business unit managers to ensure that contract and commercial risks are closely monitored and negated 

• To take ownership of the commercial aspects of the project, design, mobilisation, construction, completion, handover and final accounts 

• Administration of contract delivery and management of costs:

1. cost and cashflow forecasting

• Work with the project managers to provide accurate costs to complete

1. Supply chain evaluation and procurement (material and labour)
2. Contract reviews
3. Management and administration of sub-contract accounts
4. Change management
5. Drafting and issuing contractual notifications
6. Pricing and agreement of compensation events
7. Production and agreement of final accounts

• Supporting the project managers with sound commercial and contractual advice

• Input into pricing projects and maintaining risk registers 

• Support, including mentoring of project managers and supervisors as required

Desired profile

Person:

• Already have or working towards BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent qualification would be advantageous

• Working with NEC and JCT form of Contracts in the UK would be ideal
  
   
• A good working knowledge of MS Office (minimum of Word and Excel)
  
  
  
• Already have or willing to convert to mechanical and electrical specialisation would be ideal
