Actemium, an international Electrical Services organisation with a global turnover of €2.8 billion and based in over 40 countries. Our business unit based in Gloucester specialising in Control Panels is looking to recruit a Trainee CAD Operative/Draughtsperson.

The Role

The CAD Operative/Draughtsperson is required to produce electrical schematics, electrical single line diagrams and general arrangement drawings, using AutoCAD Electrical (or another design package), from the engineers’ designs.

Key objectives

Producing electrical schematics, electrical single line diagrams and general arrangement drawings, using AutoCAD Electrical.

• Producing electrical schematics, electrical single line diagrams and general arrangement drawings, using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Issuing of manufacturing drawings to production for build
• Assisting with project documentation
• Assisting with operation & maintenance manuals and certificates

Desired profile

Qualifications and training

• GCSE’s in English Language, Maths and Science (preferably physics).
• An ONC or OND in Electrical engineering or equivalent technical discipline would be advantageous but not essential, as this could be provided for the right candidates

Technical skills and experience

• AutoCAD Electrical experience would be beneficial, however, in-house training and external could be provided for the right candidate who is experienced in basic CAD.
• Familiar with LV Switchgear and control panel design, would be a benefit.
• Excellent communications skills as must be able to communicate at all levels.
• Calm professional manner.
• Positive "can do" attitude. With good attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
• Microsoft Office skills/experience would be beneficial (Outlook, Word, XL and PowerPoint)
