The Role
As a Stores Person/ Labourer you will oversee and help to manage a busy store which supports the manufacture and delivery of a wide range of control panels and switchgear. Your role will involve use of computer systems to manage and control stock, liaising with management around productivity and engaging with a wide range of other store related duties and responsibilities.
- To accurately and efficiently control stock of electrical components and associated materials.
- Raise purchase orders and receipt goods using an SAP system.
- To carry out appropriate goods receipt inspections and process relevant documentation in accordance with quality control procedures.
- Segregate materials as required.
- To maintain safe working practices and adhere to health & safety practices at all times.
- Order materials/consumables as required for production.
- Perform stock checks and report on stock levels.
- Ensure materials and equipment are ready for upcoming projects.
- Unpacking and inspecting deliveries.
- Keep store/workshop clean and tidy including removal of general and recyclable waste.
- Develop a relationship with suppliers and source competitive prices.
- Manage & keep accurate records of all inwards goods.
- Package components and products suitably for delivery.
- Produce relevant documentation for dispatch of outbound goods.
- Loading and unloading of palletised goods using a Forklift Truck.
- Arrange collection of waste and recyclable material.
- Adhere to and actively improve (through feedback to the Production Manager) quality control processes and procedures.
- Proactively manage and organise own workload to ensure that tight deadlines are met.
Desired profile
The Person
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
- Current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment or IOSH certificate preferable.
- IT skills in order to use our in-house stock and SAP systems.
- In order to succeed in this position, you will need to have previous experience either as a Store Manager or Stores Person and have a good understanding of how a store operates.
- Previous experience working with parts within the electrical manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
- Positive "can do" attitude. With good attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills. With the ability to flexibly and proactively manage changing priorities and work to tight timescales.
- Ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, must be able to communicate at all levels
