Actemium ICS - Senior Design Engineer

Job description

Actemium, an international Electrical Services organisation with a global turnover of €2.8 billion and based in over 40 countries is looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of the design of the project from the quotation, realisation, costs, from conception to completion. Candidate would be expected to have several years of experience with this role.

Key Objectives:

Assist Project Manager for tenders until successful receipt of order. Ability to develop solutions when dealing with customers’ restrictions in space / site issues

Responsibilities: 

• Assumes overall responsibility for the Design of the project and assist for tenders in terms of financial performance, deadline compliance and technical performance of the work.
• Liaising with Customers from Design to stage to develop Drawings and Solutions from the ground up.
• Responsible for the technical design of projects under his/her authority, covering liaising with the workshop supervisor during the day to day manufacturing of projects.
• Delivery of Electrical Schematics, Cable Schedules, Enclosure Designs,
• Working closely with his Technical Teams to ensure adherence to standards, specifications and relevant budgets.
• Assist for bid and contract reviews and monitors changes in the contract.
• Participates in the preparation of the Business Unit’s annual budget, Shared Strategic Plan (SSP) and his/her individual commercial action plan.
• Ensuring that corrective action is taken for all non-conformities.
• Actively seek out, drive and promote service excellence, best practice and continuous improvement initiatives

Desired profile

Qualification:

• Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Electrical engineering or equivalent technical discipline 

Technical Skills and Experience:

• Experienced in delivering complex Electrical Design to customer specifications with good understand of LV Switchboards and Motor Control Centres. Control panels, SCADA systems and Equipment Housings.
• Experienced in site survey’s leading to modifications to existing equipment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Calm professional manner, but able to take firm and timely decisions
• Positive "can do" attitude, be proactive to identify and resolve management problems
• Able to work extended and/or unsocial hours to the full requirements of the role
• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality
• Ability to work to demanding deadlines
• Excellent communications skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts both orally and in written form
