About the Role:

• Implementing, maintaining and improving the electronic Integrated Management System (IMS), and for its overall structure and accessibility. Custody/management of electronic management system documentation for all business functions.
• Setting, planning, and measuring SMART objectives for quality, in accordance with strategic direction provided by the Business Unit General Manager (BUGM).
• Internal assessment and auditing of compliance against ISO 9001 and raising of any non-conformities, in order for ongoing certification to be maintained.
• Production and maintenance of quality-related procedures and templates within the IMS.

Responsible for:

• Interfacing with other functional managers for the production and maintenance of company procedures under their areas of responsibility.
• Assisting the SHEQ Manager with the production and improvement of the Management System Manual, Quality Policy, and Quality Objectives.
• Promoting company values; good quality management practices being critical to nuclear safety.
• Organising, chairing, and reporting Management Review meetings on behalf of the BUGM.
• Production of annual quality audit programme; internal and supply chain.
• Conducting and reporting internal and supply chain audits, and following up on the completion of findings/actions.
• Supporting other functions with certification to management system standards where relevant.
• Acting as main contact and auditee for client and third party certification audits.
• Identification and assessment of risks and opportunities to the quality management system. Organisation, meeting chairing, and reporting regarding the Company Risk Register. 
• Identification and management of quality improvement.
• Identification and resolution of non-conformities against company procedure
• Improving working practices, culture and behaviours within the company with regards to quality.
• Ensuring consistent use of quality procedures and processes across projects and functional teams.
• Supporting Project Managers and Lead Engineers with project planning and delivery with regards to quality management.
• Reviewing and approving project quality documentation; quality plans, and project management plans where applicable.
• Reviewing and assisting project teams with the compilation of life time quality records.
• Reviewing technical files and information supporting UKCA/CE marking or other legislative requirements.
• Reviewing and commenting on supplier/subcontractor quality arrangements.
  
  

Desired profile

The Person:

Required: Minimum of ‘Practitioner’ level membership of the Chartered Quality Institute. Degree level qualification in a technical, scientific, or managerial discipline.

Preferred: ‘Chartered Quality Professional’, full member of the CQI.
Competence/experience level required:

Several years experience in the quality management profession, in a senior role, preferably in the nuclear industry or within design engineering in a similarly highly-regulated industry
