Actemium Design (formerly North West Projects) is a national Engineering design company with a Nuclear sector focus. Being part of Vinci with a turnover of €43 billion, has allowed Actemium Design to grow in an exciting but secure manner. We are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have good excel skills and knowledge of Project Accounting.
Package up to circa £40k: (Competitive Salary + Pension + Electric Vehicle Car Scheme + Share Scheme + 25 days holiday)
The Role
The Finance Anaylst will provide accurate and timely financial information. Provide support to the Business Unit Manager to assist with the effective running of the business unit. They are required to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Operational and Administrative staff within their Business Unit. They will possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, have strong commercial awareness, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Objectives:
- Effective stakeholder engagement with operational staff to ensure that financial information is being used to inform key business decisions
- Provides support in ensuring that the rules, principles and the internal control requirements of the Group are met
- Implementation and development of financial procedures and controls to increase effectiveness, timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting
- Ensure the Business Unit meets all its financial reporting obligations
Desired profile
- CIMA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent accounting qualification
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills are imperative for this role. The person will need to be a confident communicator, across all levels both internally and externally
- Ability to translate financial analysis into clear strategic objectives
- Friendly and approachable manner, able to build and sustain relationships based on trust at all levels
- An eye for detail, focused on quality and accuracy, within a fast-paced environment, without compromising deadlines.
- Ability to use sound judgement to ensure the appropriate messages are delivered
- Strong financial skills applied in a project costing context
- Ability to analyse and interpret variances
- Good knowledge of basic accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Timesheets
- Cash Management
- Advanced IT skills in particular, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
- Able to plan and deliver projects within agreed timeframes
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience of managing people
- Ability to influence others
- A self-starter who can work on their own initiative but also be able to work effectively as part of a team.
