Job description

Actemium - Final Assembly Systems, part of VINCI Energies industrial network of business unit, are looking for a capable  Technical Engineer with enthusiasm, energy, and an eagerness to learn. Our software and hardware solutions are used within vehicle production facilities around the world helping to ensure vehicle electrical systems are assembled correctly and their electronic control units have the correct level of software installed within them.  
 
The successful candidate will assist our experienced development team in developing the next generation of our core Stratus software as well as support legacy software. The ability and confidence to contribute fresh ideas into the development team is key. 
 
Candidates should ideally be from an Engineering background and have an appreciation of the demands placed on software/hardware by production environments where robustness and uptime are crucial. We will of course invest in the right candidate ensuring that they will gain the required knowledge and industrial experience to fulfill this role.

THE ROLE 


The successful candidate will assist our experienced development team in developing the next generation of our core Stratus software as well as support legacy software. The ability and confidence to contribute fresh ideas into the development team is key. 

 

Ideal candidates will be familiar with the following: 

  • Software Development using C++ using MFC to create server/client based software with dynamic and intuitive graphical user interfaces 
  • Software Development using C# &. WPF to create server/client based software with dynamic and intuitive graphical user interfaces
  • Relational database installation, creation, administration and programmatic interfacing (particularly Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle)
  • Knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems (XP - 11) and Windows Server Operating Systems (2003 - 2022), including installation, troubleshooting and virtualisation 
  • Knowledge of web based technologies and development, with a good understanding of creating functional and aesthetically pleasing graphical user interfaces 
  • Artwork / Graphics creation and modification for graphical user interface development and marketing material (Adobe Photoshop) 
  • Good communications skills are essential, requiring that applicants are comfortable liaising internally and directly with customers at all levels 
  • Working as part of a small development team the successful candidate must be flexible and actively contribute ideas 
     

 

 

Desired profile

Knowledge/ Experience in the following areas would also be beneficial:

 

  • Software Development using C for Linux or similar UNIX like operating systems 
  • Computer networking technologies, including understanding and troubleshooting Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks 
  • Windows CE for Embedded Devices (C# and .NET Compact Framework)
  • Social Networking for brand / product marketing purposes
