Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Nottingham, United Kingdom. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will work closely with the Head Chef to create specials menus, manage daily operations, and inspire our team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
· Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute a la carte, specials and function menus
· Lead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a positive and professional work environment
· Ensure consistent high-quality food preparation and presentation across all dishes
· Manage inventory, food costs, and kitchen resources efficiently
· Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
· Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
· Assist in staff scheduling and training to meet operational needs
· Oversee kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence
· Contribute to menu planning, including daily specials and seasonal updates
· Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, arranging repairs when necessary
Qualifications
· Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready for advancement
· Professional experience or relevant qualifications
· Demonstrated leadership skills in a high-volume, high-quality kitchen environment
· Exceptional culinary techniques and knowledge of various cuisines
· Strong organizational and time management abilities
· Positive, collaborative attitude with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences
· Current food safety certification
· Proficiency in kitchen management software
· Creativity and innovation in menu development and food presentation
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
