Job Description

As a Kitchen Steward, you are responsible for executing a range of essential duties that ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. These duties include but are not limited to:

·  Operate an industrial dishwasher (sort, stack, load, unload)
·  Ensure dishes, glasses, cutlery, utensils, silverware required are clean and available for use
·  Store all cleaned items in an organized and safe manner
·  Transport food & supplies from the storeroom & kitchen to designated areas
·  Ensure all breakages and chipped items are reported & removed from circulation and inventoried
·  Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times and correct equipment and chemicals are used
·  Assist with set-up and break down of service areas for service and functions
·  Cleaning of stoves, ovens, grills, refrigerators & using necessary cleaning solutions and tools              
·  Maintain a healthy, clean and safe work environment

Qualifications

·  Positive attitude
·  Good communication skills
·  Ability to work under pressure
·  Ability to work on their own or in teams
·  Police certificate of character 
·  Ability to work on weekends and bank holidays
