Job Description
This position is responsible for the production of all pastries, desserts, breads and other baked products.
· Monitor food quality and consistency to ensure all dishes served to guests meet the highest standards.
· Perform yield testing and product identification; ensure proper rotation and labeling in accordance with food produce specifications.
· Oversee daily dry and general stores, ensuring all perishable goods delivered comply with written product specifications, with extra attention to imported and seasonal items.
· Conduct weekly kitchen walkthroughs and collaborate with Chief Steward to maintain kitchen sanitation and ensure engineering maintenance standards are met.
· Provide hands-on demonstrations of various international cuisines through food tastings as needed.
· Monitor food orders to minimize wastage and ensure efficient product utilization at all times.
· Enforce strict control over kitchen access, ensuring only authorized personnel enter and follow occupational health department guidelines.
· Ensure all equipment and perishable items are stored in designated areas following hygienic standards.
· Coordinate closely with the receiving department and storeroom to confirm that all goods received meet the hotel’s quality and specification standards.
· Update recipes, costing, and menu plans for ongoing promotions.
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
· Certificate or diploma from a recognized Culinary School
· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
· Good proficiency in spoken and written English
· Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
